Tungsten Rings

Tungsten Rings are the hottest rings on the market today. Their
popularity is constantly growing since they have been around since the
early 17th century. Miners found the ore while mining for gold. They referred to it as
wolfram or wolfert. Its chemical symbol is W because of this. Alex Cronstedt was a Swedish scientist who actively studied the
properties of Tungsten to determine a use for the ore. The scientist
who eventually patented formulas made from tungsten's name was Oxland.
The ore is still referred to as wolfram in Scandinavia, Germany and
other countries. Tungsten began to be used for other purposes after all
of this great work was done with the metal. It was used to harden other
ores when combined with them because it was such a dense metal
naturally. It improved the other qualities of the metals. In addition,
Tungsten made some metals more malleable. This property was discovered
by a scientist named Coolidge in the early 20th century.
Tungsten Rings - Durability
From these very humble and scientific beginnings, one may wonder how
Tungsten became such a popular fashion accessory. Tungsten Carbide is a
hard to come by metal whose finish cannot be ruined or damage. This
means that Tungsten Carbide's potential in jewelry design is unlimited.
No other precious metal can provide this sort of long term maintenance
free jewelry wear. This is quite an amazing feat. Of course you can
shine your silver and refurbish your gold, but can you really beat not
having to do anything to your Tungsten Rings?
You can wear them through anything and never have to do much of
anything to maintain their beauty. For this reason you can see why many
people are choosing Tungsten Rings for wedding, engagement and
graduation rings. Tungsten Rings will always remain glorious and shiny.
Their finish is permanent and cannot be rubbed off. It's as if they
have a magic force field surrounding them.
Tungsten Rings are naturally heavy in weight and this could easily
symbolize permanence, faithfulness, commitment and joy for any couple,
for many years to come.
Some people compare Tungsten Rings to titanium rings. This comparison
often comes through in men's jewelry especially. Titanium used to be
quite popular in men's jewelry. But then when Tungsten Rings became
more popular, titanium lost its luster. This is because men love things
that are low maintenance and things that are efficient. Tungsten Rings
provide this for men. Tungsten and titanium often get confused because
they are new to the jewelry community. But they are not the same.
There are quite a few key differences. Titanium is not as strong or as
dense as Tungsten. Titanium doesn’t have a permanent glazed finish that
is durable in all conditions. Tungsten really is quite beautiful.
Titanium cannot be made to behave like Tungsten, but Tungsten can be
made to look and behave like Titanium. Tungsten Rings have a wonderful
mutable quality that makes them exceptionally beautiful and treasured
items of jewelry. Tungsten Rings are four times stronger than their
Titanium counterparts. Titanium rings can also easily be damaged and
scraped.

Some people don't like the heavy weight of tungsten, but thats one of the things that my fiance was drawn to. He works with his hands a lot in construction and says its easier to feel the ring on while hes workin away. We also got a good warranty on it from Tungsten World so we can replace it if anything happens to it while he's working...which could happen considering his line of work.
